So, no seeds on heat mats in the greenhouse this year. But, while shopping for a new birdbath fountain pump, I walked by some beautiful tomato plants and they jumped into my cart (funny how that happens).
I'll keep them in the sunny, toasty warm greenhouse after repotting them into gallon or larger containers. They can hang out for a while, getting bigger and stronger, until the right time to put them into the garden. (Why do I feel like I'm cheating?!)
Then I'm hoping they will look like this...
I had no idea that there were tomato plants in the nurseries already. I have almost given up starting tomatoes from seed. So much easier to buy the seedlings and do as you do, pot them up. I shall likely buy the 6 packs of Celebrity and 4" of heirlooms. It won't be long until caprese salad is on the table.
ReplyDeleteYou've gotta watch out for those jumping plants that somehow find their way into your cart. These look very healthy and happy and I wish you oodles of tomatoes. Ah yes, tomato season, I can almost taste it!
