Presents on the doorstep...

A big box from Gardener's Supply Company arrived on my doorstep today.

I was excited and eager to learn its contents. But not as eager, it seems, as my bubbies, who stuck their big noses right into the middle of things.

They were so disappointed that there wasn't anything in there for them -- just boring old seed heat mats. (Maybe they will grow something we can eat later, they thought!)
They were only moderately interested as I modeled my new garden clogs. Not too interesting when they are on my feet.
(But Tanner was thinking..."oooh, I can snag one of those when she leaves them outside the back door and run off with it in the yard -- now that might be fun!)

Silly dogs.

But I am psyched about my goodie box today.

Seed sowing soon!

Love those shoes! I might have to get me a pair. Have fun planting.

You're going to love your Ladybugs! I got Kara that same pair a couple of years ago. I've got two pairs of solid color ones and I actually wore the first pair out. Well, not completely, because I still put them on once in awhile. Yours are so FUN!

Good luck with your seed starting!

getgrounded - They are cute, aren't they? My others (probably 10 years old) finally just split right up the niddle and boots only work so often around here. Today, boots are good!

Kylee -- I've had their boots and flowered clogs and love them, but these are even better - they have more support. Can't wait to get them dirty working in the garden.

Caroline - I didn't get them and now that I have the rest of my stuff, I may start without them, but order some for some seedlings that don't like to be moved.

Lisa -- Oh yeah, those kids were so interested when I brought that box into the kitchen! Gotta check it all out.

Janet - Thanks! I'm happy gardening but you sure couldn't help but smile putting these on, huh?!

The ladybug shoes really are cute, Diana - find the serious soles very appealing, too!

Annie - Thanks. I DO love the soles -- they have great support and my feet won't hurt after a day in the garden now!

Love the clogs! and you're right to worry about the dogs running off with one. Last delivery box I received the dog took off with it outside and opened it herself. I couldn't catch her before she'd torn it open.

Vertie - My boy dog especially likes to steal one garden glove and take it somewhere. Even inside, if I leave shoes out, when I come home one is on his rug by the front door where he sits. They are so odd!

The poochies are so cute! My neighbor's Bichon pilfered one of the gloves I left lying out front one day. I took to keeping the ones with holes in the fingers and leaving them out for him on purpose.

Nothing is better than getting a box of garden stuff in the dead of winter...

Cindy -- That's so funny. We're always trying to outsmart those dogs, aren't we? And I usually can't! (Witness holes in my yard and missing plants in my beds!)

Dirty Girl Gardening - you are so right. Getting "stuff" when you can't really garden is so fun.

I love getting boxes filled with fun things! Love the clogs & the seed mats are such a great idea. Let me know how like the clogs because mine need an update. In my house, though, the dog doesn't care about the boxes. The cats are in them before I get them emptied.

Ooh, nice looking clogs. I still have a big empty box from Gardener's Supply that my cats think is swell to play in. Maybe if your dogs were cats they'd be more excited. :-)

Linda/CTG: Catching up from being sick! I LOVE the clogs. They have such nice support and fit great. They are wide enough for my feet (hard to find) and so comfortable. Buy them! Plus, it's so hard not so smile when you look down and see your feet covered with ladybugs!

Jean - Yes, I can see how cats would be enthralled with a big box. Must be much cheaper to entertain them than dogs!
